Join ISEAL in an organisational leadership team role guiding ISEAL’s work on sustainability issues and enabling programme and project teams to excel in delivery.
The Director of Programmes leads ISEAL’s Impacts and Innovations Programme, which aims to inspire and challenge sustainability systems to make a profound positive impact on the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges. The Programme delivers a growing range of grant-funded projects on issues such as livelihoods, human rights, climate, nature and biodiversity. The Programme encompasses three interconnected areas of work: sustainability issues, systems effectiveness, which is led by the Director of Credibility and Innovations, and the Innovations Fund, a grant-making facility. The Programme implements activities in collaboration with a range of external stakeholders and facilitates several coalitions of partners. The team consists of around 20 staff and the Director has direct line management responsibilities for 3-4 senior staff.
The Director will provide strategic oversight on all sustainability issue areas, building resources, funding and partnerships to drive systemic change. The Director will support senior staff with strategic oversight and support and coach in operational delivery. While giving equal attention across programme areas, the director will spend time initially to further develop the work on climate, nature and biodiversity.
ISEAL’s programmes are implemented in close collaboration with ISEAL Community Members, all of whom are sustainability systems working across a range of sectors and industries. The Director will develop good working relationships across the membership to understand their needs, interests and priorities.
The Director is part of the Senior Leadership Team providing strategic oversight and guidance across the organisation.
We are looking for a well-established leader with strong experience managing teams of experts, providing strategic direction as well as people management support. With a strong familiarity with sustainability systems and market-based sustainability solutions, the preferred candidate will have a track record in fundraising for projects and strong skills in building relationships and partnerships. ISEAL is a growing organisation and the ability to lead adaptations to changing priorities and new challenges will be crucial in this role.
