Three new directors have been appointed to ISEAL’s Board, bringing a diverse range of experience from NGO, government, private sector and intergovernmental organisations.
The Board is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of ISEAL’s work and overseeing the delivery of its key objectives: credible systems, claims and communications to sit at the heart of market-based sustainability solutions; and sustainability systems and their partners to deliver scalable solutions to global sustainability challenges.
The move to include external directors on ISEAL’s Board creates greater balance: increasing the Board’s global perspective and diversifying its strategic input and oversight. The ISEAL Board voted to appoint the new Board members on 6 May, with the positions effective as of 15 June.
Kiron Bose joins the Board from Collington Capital, where he is a Managing Director. Kiron has a background working as an investor, advisor, entrepreneur and banker in Asia and Europe. He has spent more than 20 years living in Asia and has worked with companies, governments and governmental entities in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and China for many years advising on financial management strategy. He is also a co-founder of a start-up and advisor to companies, funds and NGOs on emerging markets.
Nina Schuler brings a wealth of experience to the Board as Technical Director in the Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience practice at AECOM, a global engineering consulting firm. She has more than 20 years’ experience leading and implementing innovative projects in the international development, responsible business and impact investing sectors across a wide range of countries in Asia and Africa. Prior to joining AECOM, Nina worked on international climate finance at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
Also joining the Board is Aik Hoe Lim, Director of Trade and Environment at the World Trade Organisation. As well as overseeing its work on trade and environment, he is responsible for the organisation’s work on technical barriers to trade. He brings more than 20 years of experience in trade policy/law and international trade negotiations. A large part of his work lies in bridging gaps between developed and developing countries on the trade and environment agenda.
