The ISEAL Code provides a globally-recognised framework that defines practices for effective and credible sustainability standards and related sustainability systems.

The Chinese version of the ISEAL Code will serve as a public resource and reference to support Chinese businesses and Chinese-led sustainability systems.

It will also help relevant institutions to better understand, develop, and implement effective sustainability systems.

ISEAL’s Executive Director Karin Kreider said, “ISEAL believes that high-quality sustainability systems can be developed anywhere in the world, and the Chinese translation of the ISEAL Code can support the development of effective practices.”

During the public consultations to help develop the ISEAL Code and the translation process, many Chinese stakeholders’ views were integrated into the final document, making it a stronger and more globally-relevant reference point.

In the future, ISEAL will continue to strengthen our collaboration with CCPIT-CSC and support the development and implementation of sustainability systems in China and around the world.

The release of the ISEAL Code follows the signing of an MoU between ISEAL and CCPIT-CSC in 2024.
