Herding families rely on cashmere sales for spring income, but volatile prices make earnings unpredictable. Since 2019, the SFA has supported Mongolian herders to access low-interest loans, with training, and peer-learning opportunities. Despite these efforts, challenges remain, including limited access to the SFA’s digital training platform – known as the Learning Management System (LMS) – and the added strain of fluctuating cashmere prices.
This project seeks to address these issues – developing the LMS to include financial training features, real-time cashmere pricing, and expert guidance on sustainable practices. By providing accessible tools and better resources, the initiative aims to empower herders to boost their economic stability, ultimately enhancing community resilience.
